FAQs
FAQs
Can I reuse this jar to make more infused cotton tips when these run out?
Absolutely, just make sure you are using the same odour and don’t wash the jar or use it for anything else (if you contaminate the jar, then you will need a fresh one).
How do I infuse cotton tips with odour?
Never drip oil directly onto the cotton tips as this will make the scent way too strong (stronger is not better). To infuse tips, place 20-30 pre-cut paper-stemmed cotton tips into an amber glass jar, then place a cotton ball on top. Place no more than 2 drops of oil onto the cotton ball, close the lid, and give the jar a good shake. The tips can then safely stay in the jar until use. Make sure you don’t touch infused cotton tips with your bare hands as you risk spreading the odour to anything else you touch. Also never put a cotton tip back into a jar of infused cotton tips once used as this will contaminate your fresh jar of tips.
Should I make my cotton tips stronger when I first start training?
Believe it or not, stronger is actually not better, no matter what stage of training you are at when using oils. Stronger oils creates a bigger scent cone which actually makes it harder for a dog to pinpoint the source. While it may be tempting to add an extra drop or two when infusing your cotton tips, this will be detrimental to your training.
